Advice to consumers to avoid being bilked on Packers tickets (AP)
05/02/2005
Wisconsin consumer protection officials have some advice for people wanting to buy Green Bay Packers tickets:
_Don't be misled by illegal use of the Green Bay Packers logo and Lambeau Field names, which are trademarks of the Packers.
_Before paying any money or giving a credit card number, determine if the seller actually has tickets. Ask to have a copy of the tickets faxed to you.
_Don't give a credit card number on the phone unless you know something about the person you are dealing with.
_Try to deal only with "official" sources for tickets and tours - those endorsed by the team.
_Deal only with ticket agencies that are members of the National Association of Ticket Brokers, whose members are carefully screened.
_Don't get on the plane without having official game tickets.
_Verify the travel agent you are dealing with is a member of a trade association, such as the American Society of Travel Agents.
